The municipal workforce is facing a crisis. In a 2011 Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators presentation, one presenter reported that within the next 10 years 30-50 per cent of the municipal workforce is expected to retire, taking with them their leadership, knowledge, and skills. This projection is now more than 10 years ago, but we seem to be no closer to finding a solution.
