Regional District of Nanaimo Hosting Provincial Election Candidate Forums

The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) and Nanaimo Regional Hospital District (NRHD) will be co-hosting four candidate forums leading up to the October 19, 2024, provincial election. One forum will take place in each of the following four electoral districts: Mid Island-Pacific Rim, Ladysmith-Oceanside, Nanaimo- Lantzville and Nanaimo-Gabriola.
These free forums will provide residents with the opportunity to hear Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidates speak on various election topics that matter to the community. Residents are invited to attend in person and to submit proposed questions in advance for their MLA candidates. The participating candidates will answer questions selected from these advance submissions during the forum. Please note that questions will not be taken from the floor during the forum. The RDN will invite all candidates to participate in the forums; however, not all may be able to attend.
Mid Island-Pacific Rim
When: Thursday, September 25, 7 – 9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Bradley Centre, 975 Shearme Road, Coombs
Ladysmith-Oceanside
When: Wednesday, September 26, 2024, 7 – 9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Tigh-Na-Mara Resort, 1155 Resort Drive, Parksville
Nanaimo-Lantzville
When: Wednesday, October 2, 7 – 9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Wellington Secondary School, 3135 Mexicana Road, Nanaimo
Nanaimo-Gabriola
When: Thursday, October 3, 7 – 9 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Nanaimo Curling Club, 106 Wall Street, Nanaimo
The forums will be recorded and posted on the RDN YouTube channel.
Information on the forums and how to submit questions will be posted on the RDN Get Involved website at getinvolved.rdn.ca/who-we-are. More details will also be shared closer to the event at rdn.bc.ca/hospital-district, on social media channels and in local media.
