Motorists have a new parking option when heading to their favourite downtown destinations with the launch of PayByPhone’s mobile app.
New App Provides Simple, Convenient, Cashless Option to Pay for Parking
While coin is still accepted, drivers can now use their smart phone to pay for metered parking in Regina’s downtown.
PayByPhone provides a simple, convenient, and cashless way to pay for parking. Your mobile phone is all you need to make a payment and receive reminders before your time expires. The app also allows you to add time, within the two-hour parking limit, from anywhere.
“Our downtown offers many great amenities and businesses for people to come and enjoy. We are pleased to be providing this convenient option for drivers traveling downtown, and just in time for the Hockey Week festivities on the Plaza,” said Mayor Michael Fougere.
“Parking just got easier in Downtown Regina,” said Judith Versuk, Executive Director of RDBID. Being able to pay for on-street parking through a smart phone app is a much needed convenience that downtown businesses have been asking for. No more fumbling for coins – people can pay for parking directly from their bank account. So many people get tickets because their meeting or their lunch ran long. Being able to add more time to a meter from a remote location will, hopefully, reduce the number of tickets being issued throughout Downtown Regina.”
Motorists can use PayByPhone by downloading the app to their smart phone or calling the toll-free number 1-888-680-7275. A transaction fee of .17 cents is applied when using the service. For more information, visit the new, mobile-friendly Regina.ca.
