Importance of having more youth involved in the municipal space

Tammy Hwang, Hamilton city councillor, and Kerry Yang, one of AMO’s 2025 Youth Fellows, join us to discuss the value of the fellowship and how it creates opportunities for young people to engage with their communities. Hwang points out the importance of mentorship when working with youth interested in the municipal sector, while Yang – currently studying Health Sciences at McMaster University, in Hamilton – shares insights on how local governments can better connect with and amplify youth voices.
