City of Vancouver: Climate Emergency Parking Program

In November 2020, Vancouver city council directed staff to explore a citywide residential parking program with a pollution charge as part of the Climate Emergency Action Plan (http://vancouver.ca/climate-emergency).

The proposed Climate Emergency Parking Program would:

• Encourage people to purchase cleaner vehicles
• Reduce air and carbon pollution
• Fund climate emergency actions
