Position Purpose
The Supervisor of Development Engineering leads the daily operations, staff, and technical functions of the Development Engineering Division. This role is responsible for managing the review, approval, and inspection of development applications and related infrastructure within the Town.
The Supervisor provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure that supports responsible growth and aligns with the Town’s goals. The role oversees the Division’s staff and work programs, ensuring timely service delivery, consistent application of engineering standards, and a customer-focused approach to development review.
Key responsibilities include managing the review and approval processes for:
- Subdivision and condominium developments
- Site plan applications
- Site alteration and entrance permits
The Supervisor collaborates with internal departments, external agencies, developers, consultants, and residents to ensure infrastructure is designed and constructed to meet the Town’s requirements and community expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or equivalent designation in good standing. Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal development engineering, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
