Occupational Health and Safety Inspector - Construction

You will help protect workers by enforcing legislation that governs safety on job sites. Your work ensures that construction projects across Ontario meet high safety standards, reducing risks and supporting a culture of prevention.
About the job
You will:
• enforce the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
• enforce the Building Opportunities for the Skilled Trades Act (BOSTA) and associated regulations.
• act as agents in the enforcement of other applicable legislation such as: Hazardous Products Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Act, Fire Code and Building Code Applications, First Aid Requirement.
• conduct comprehensive inspections and investigations, write orders and reports.
• engage in enforcement activities including prosecutions.
• work with health and safety partners, workers, union/management to promote safe work practices and working conditions with workers, unions and management through the Internal Responsibility System (IRS).
