About the Role:
The Manager of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for:
- Leading the Strategic Plan implementation and reporting by overseeing the execution, and annual reporting of the strategic plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs and identifying opportunities for partnerships on initiatives like transportation and housing.
- Developing and monitoring annual budgets for economic development, community development, tourism, marketing, digital modernization, and information technology (IT), while tracking progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive effectiveness.
- Leading the Digital Modernization Committee, oversee IT systems and software adoption, and ensure hardware/software inventories and licensing compliance while providing staff training and IT support coordination.
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to the CAO and Senior Management Team, providing objective analysis, detailed updates, and recommendations on corporate and community matters.
- Research and pursue innovative funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, and develop partnerships to support economic development, community initiatives, and strategic priorities. Oversee the compliance and reporting for secured grants.
- Attract commercial and industrial investment by developing and implementing strategies to foster economic growth, working with the Economic Development Officer to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Oversee the creation, review, and recommendation of policies and procedures for economic development, community development, tourism, marketing, digital modernization, and IT, ensuring alignment with Township goals and best practices.

Who We’re Looking For:
- An experienced leader who brings economic development experience, IT skills, and leadership in a municipal setting, with a proven track record of successfully creating, implementing, and evaluating strategic plans and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead innovation, manage complex projects, and drive corporate priorities forward with a focus on results and continuous improvement.
- They may hold a post-secondary degree in Economic Development, Business, Public Administration, or a related field, with a strong understanding of municipal affairs, corporate strategy, and public policy.
- Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse partners, from Council members and developers to community partners and the public.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages complex challenges with strong problem-solving skills, and is flexible to attend the occasional evening meeting to meet organizational needs.
