Who you will be working with:
The Village employs 15 talented full-time staff, who are committed to building and maintaining Lumby as a community of choice for current residents and future generations. The Village has a fantastic leadership team led by a strong CAO who believes in having fun while accomplishing great things.
What you will be working on:
As an important member of our senior leadership team, you will have excellent communication skills and will help facilitate the achievement of the Village’s strategic and operational objectives. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), you will provide vision, leadership and operational support to the Village.
- Lead day to day operations services including installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of roads, water, sewer, storm, sidewalks, lighting, parks & recreational facilities, cemetery and water and wastewater treatment utilities;
- Oversee and provide project management support for infrastructure renewal capital projects;
- Plan and implement public works & recreation initiatives utilizing innovative strategies and provide leadership to a dedicated team; and,
- Preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring health & safety policies and standards are followed, communicating with all stakeholders including dealing effectively with Council, staff and the public in a positive and proactive manner is essential in this diverse role.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible municipal experience, including personnel management in a unionized environment, and experience in managing operations and engineering functions in a local government environment
- Strong record of exceptional leadership
- Proven abilities to support, participate, and engage in senior leadership teams
- High level of skills to motivate, support and mentor staff
- Possession of a valid C. Drivers Licence and clean driving record (required).
- Civil Engineering Technology Diploma (asset)
- Board of Examiners Certificate in Local Government Administration (asset).
- EOCP Certification in Water / Wastewater (asset)
- 5th Class Power Engineer – Refrigeration Operator Endorsement (asset)
What you can expect:
The Village offers a competitive salary range ($90,000 – 115,000 depending on relevant experience and credentials); and a comprehensive benefit package for this senior management position. More importantly, the Village offers the chance to work hard while accomplishing great things.
