The Town of Petawawa is nestled in the western shore of the Ottawa River, just 160 km west of Ottawa. It’s the largest community in Renfrew County with a population over 17,000. The Town has a partnership with Garrison Petawawa, Canada’s largest army base and has prime commercial and industrial land available for development. Petawawa has excellent roads and utility services including a fully equipped recreational and commercial airport with a 5,000 foot runway.  Petawawa has great outdoor recreational activities all year round! The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking an experienced professional to fulfill the position of Manager of Civic Properties. The Manager of Civic Properties is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of all civic facilities, parks and trails, as well as coordinating with other departments in the formulation and implementation of the Town’s Asset Management Plan.

Description of Position:

  • Develops and oversees capital and operating maintenance programs associated with the Town’s buildings, facilities and parks that informs the Town’s Asset Management Plan
  • Ensures safe and efficient operations, and adheres to municipal, provincial and federal legislation, regulations and policies
  • Arranges and oversees work of external contractors
  • Provides supervision and direction to the Civic Properties Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • College diploma in facilities/property management or equivalent courses and experience
  • A strong knowledge of building construction and maintenance techniques
  • Experience in procurement of goods and services
  • Strong organizational skills and leadership skills with an emphasis on team building and leading by example
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, contractors, user groups and the public
  • Experience in parks and recreation facility management including arboriculture, horticulture, ice making and refrigeration equipment maintenance, an asset

Pay is based on qualifications and experience and a 40 hour work week.
