The Equipment Operator position is a permanent, full-time position within the Roads Department, 40 hours per week and the Wage Scale is $26.46-$33.07 (as per ‘Appendix D’ in the Municipality of Central Huron Collective Agreement IBEW Local 636).

Reporting to the Roads Foreperson, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven operating and maintenance experience;
  • Teamwork mentality with an ability to identify and rally behind the goals of the team that in turn brings positive benefits to the municipality;
  • Valid DZ License with a Drivers Abstract in good standing;
  • The ability to operate and maintain a wide range of equipment, assist in a wide variety of road maintenance duties (e.g. snow removal or tree cutting);
  • Ability to maintain and abide by proper health and safety protocols and procedures;
  • Excellent customer service, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills as this position is a very public facing position;
  • Extensive grader and heavy equipment experience;
  • Surface Miners Course in all Modules.
