As the financial steward of our municipality, you’ll lead budgeting, reporting, investment management, and more, contributing to our forward-thinking culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee finance and treasury functions, including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and investment management, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Budget Oversight: Manage operational and capital budgets, business plans, and procurement processes, while exploring funding opportunities and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Administrative Leadership: Lead the Finance and Treasury Department, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies, and representing the department in meetings and negotiations.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, council members, and external partners to support collaborative initiatives and financial transparency.
- Team Management: Provide leadership to department members, fostering a positive culture of accountability, motivation, and performance excellence.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a candidate with expertise in financial management, legislation, and leadership, with a keen eye for strategic planning and forecasting. Your qualifications should include a post-secondary degree in accounting or a related field, along with professional designation and significant experience in finance and management roles.
