Clerk/Chief Administrative Officer
As the Clerk/Chief Administrative Officer, your impact on the municipality will be significant in several ways:
Administration: You will organize and attend all Council meetings; ensure by-laws and resolutions are in place and up to date; advise council on land-use strategy and policy; recommend new initiatives to council; and oversee the implementation of Council policies by responsible departments.
Human Resource Management: You will recruit and develop all municipal management employees, and develop a plan to attract and retain employees.
You will have technical skills in municipal administration, financial management and human resource management. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are just some of the requirements of the position. Candidates shall have a post-secondary education in a relevant discipline. Bilingualism an asset (English/French).
The Township of Chapleau is located in Northeastern Ontario and offers a full service recreational complex, arena, curling club, golf course, elementary and secondary schools in both the French and English languages, hospital and medical centre. The salary range for this position is $108,000 to $122,000 plus a generous benefit package.
