As Municipal Clerk, Arjoon created Halifax’s first campaign finance by-law, upgraded the Halifax council chamber broadcast system and its meeting management software, and worked with the Nova Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs & Housing on several technical amendments to the Municipal Elections Act of Nova Scotia.

“On behalf of council I want to welcome Kevin to Burlington,” says Mayor Marianne Meed Ward. “Kevin’s approach stood out amongst all the candidates interviewed. I am looking forward to Kevin’s energy, positive approach and the innovation he will bring to the Clerk’s position. I hope everyone will join me in making him feel part of the Burlington family.”

“After a comprehensive recruiting competition, Kevin’s years of progressive and varied experience in the municipal sector both in Ontario and in Nova Scotia made him the ideal candidate to be the city’s next Clerk,” adds City Manager Tim Commisso. “I also want to thank Angela Morgan for her 10 years of great leadership and service to the city as the Clerk.” (Previous City Clerk Angela Morgan took on a new role as the City of Burlington’s Executive Lead-Customer Experience that will, among other tasks, develop and implement an updated customer experience strategy.)
