The Region of Peel has hired a chief financial officer (CFO) and commissioner of corporate services to fill the vacancy left by Gary Kent, the new chief administrative officer.

Davinder Valeri is coming to the region after working at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, where she held the title of executive director, Accounting for Sustainability Canada, and director, strategy, risk and performance management.

Valeri worked with a team doing research on disrupters in technology, economy, sustainability and more in Canada.

“Davinder’s forward-thinking leadership experience and expertise in financial management, business transformation, and sustainability make her a valuable addition to Peel Region at this important time,” Kent said in a news release.

Valeri has also worked for KPMG LLP and Ontario Power Generation.

She has been holding executive leadership roles since 2006.
