Quinte West city council announced David Clazie as the newly appointed Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Clazie has been working for the City of Quinte West since 2003 and previously held the position of Director of Corporate and Financial Services and City Treasurer for the last 11 years. He replaces Charlie Murphy, who retired as CAO on July 17.
“David embodies the innovation and energy the city needs as we move forward,” states Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “He brings a wealth of experience and is passionate about serving the community.”
Quinte West council engaged Palmer & Associates for the comprehensive search for the city’s next CAO. Out of the strong pool of candidates, Clazie was the clear choice from the interview panel, made up of city councillors.
“I’m thrilled to accept this position,” says Clazie. “I look forward to working with council, staff, and residents to continue realizing the tremendous potential of our community through the implementation of the city’s new Strategic Plan. The City of Quinte West is poised for significant growth over the next few years.”
This appointment will help ensure the continuation of current initiatives under this new leadership, as Quinte West continues to be a rural municipal government leader.
