We looked for a candidate with practical experience and understanding, who can match the energy of this council and provide accountable public services while continuously pursuing efficiencies and public sector excellence. At its August 7, 2019 meeting, city council established a Chief Administrative Officer Recruitment Committee. The committee was chaired by Mayor Brown and comprised of all members of council.

The city retained national executive search firm Feldman Daxon Partners to conduct the recruit for this significant leadership position.
