Through a comprehensive and vigorous recruitment process, the Town of Grimsby is pleased to announce Adam Joon, a strategic thinker and seasoned professional, as our new Economic Development Officer.
Adam possesses a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree along with a Bachelor of Political Science. With almost 20 years of progressive economic development, business development, and project management experience, Adam has focused for many years on business retention, expansion, and attraction as an economic development practitioner in the Niagara region.
With a unique blend of both public and private sector experience in business and community-based economic development, Adam has leveraged his leadership and proven result-oriented abilities in various roles and accomplishments.
During his years with the Business Development Bank of Canada’s (BDC) Advisory Services group, Adam engaged with Small-Medium business (SME’s) in Niagara, through Hamilton, and into the Brantford market to help them increase their revenues, manage their expenses, improve their operations, and grow their business. In this role, Adam also successfully positioned the BDC’s flagship Advisory Services offering to high-growth, high-potential companies helping to establish a roadmap to revenue growth and provide executive resources to take their business to the next level of performance.
At IPSOS-Reid, a global leader in consumer insight, market research, and loyalty measurement and management, Adam worked directly with numerous companies to improve their business processes and provide evidence-based consumer insight to support business decision making and growth.
With the Niagara Region Economic Development team, Adam focused on streamlining the development approvals process and optimizing the Niagara Gateway Economic Zone and Centre CIP.
Throughout his career, Adam has worked closely with many high-profile organizations across several industries and sectors on development and business planning, due diligence, and business feasibility analysis as well as supporting development proposals and applications to municipal, regional, and provincial governments.

Adam Joon will be commencing his role with the town on July 27, 2020.
