On the morning of May 8, 2025, the cafeteria at Peel Region headquarters was buzzing with chatter as media members set up cameras and event staff tested microphones at a speaker’s podium. Milling about were politicians, curious staff, and dozens of first responders proudly wearing the uniforms of different Ontario communities.
But, while the group was diverse, it had come together for a common, provincewide cause: to reduce 9-1-1 misuse and keep those critical lines
