Solid waste management in British Columbia is a mix of public and private enterprises. Local governments may own and operate landfills, transfer stations, waste-to-energy facilities and other infrastructure, and provide collection services. Alongside local governments, there are large and small companies that are involved in the business of collecting, hauling, sorting, recycling, and disposing of waste.
