Municipal planning in danger

by SMITHER M
Published in April 1998 - Page 2

The Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) is concerned that Ontario’s urban centres are in danger of discarding sound planning in a scramble to balance their books. Struggling to cope with massive long-term changes to municipal structures and new property and education tax systems, the association worries that municipal governments may be forced into seeking any means possible to increase revenues and broaden the tax base at the expense of proper planning.
