I am the first among sinners who are responsible for the overuse of certain words and phrases. Effective, efficient (or, better still, effective and efficient), comprehensive, and significant (oh, how I loved to describe any number of things as significant) have frequently found their way into reports I have submitted. That said, I don’t think my language transgressions have forfeited my right to self-righteous indignation regarding others’ lexiconical laxity. Below are the most loathsome examples
