Workplaces throughout the country are struggling. Pandemic-fuelled career changes, employee burnout, and a new scrutiny of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives have brought unprecedented challenges to our work environments.
Municipal workplaces, given their legal and operational contexts, face unique additional challenges. In Ontario, for example, strong mayor legislation gives mayors the power to appoint and dismiss the chief administrative officer and other senior managers to advance provincial priorities.
