Six Canadian municipalities win national awards of excellence

Today, six Canadian municipalities have won national awards of excellence from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) in the areas of innovation, environment, and professional development.  Presented during CAMA’s national conference in Fredericton, NB, the following municipalities and projects were recognized, based on their population size:
  
2018 CAMA Willis Award for Innovation

  • District of Lake County, BC, (Under 20,000 Population Category) – Lake County Frog Talks and On Point Engagement Series
  • City of Maple Ridge, BC, (20,001 to 100,000 Population Category) – Maple Ridge Open Government Portal
  • City of Kitchener, ON, (Over 100,000 Population Category) – Love My Hood: Kitchener’s Guide to Great Neighbourhoods

2018 CAMA Environment Award

  • City of Surrey, BC, (Over 100,000 Population Category) – Surrey Biofuel Facility

2018 CAMA Professional Development Award

  • Town of East Gwillimbury, ON, (20,001 to 100,000 Population Category) – Growth Management and Development Dashboard
  • Capital Regional District, BC, (Over 100,000 Population Category) – Improving the Success of Corporate Planning Through an Organizational Development Plan
