Director of Municipal Works and Services

The Hamlet of Kinngait (formerly Cape Dorset) is an Inuit hamlet located on Dorset Island near Fox Peninsula at the southern tip of Baffin Island. There are approximately 1,600 residents in the community. It is world famous for its Inuit art, both carvings and prints.
The Hamlet has an immediate opening for the Director of Municipal Works and Services. Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer, the Director of Municipal Works and Services is responsible for overseeing hamlet transportation and works operations. The Director is responsible for the delivery of programs in the areas of water, sanitation, treatment and delivery; road maintenance and repair; airport runway maintenance; waste management; and hamlet vehicle and equipment maintenance. The Director will supervise and lead works staff and oversee contractors.
The incumbent will be a seasoned manager with extensive management experience, preferably in Water and Wastewater Management and Municipal works.
