GIS Coordinator

Help Us Build the Future — One Map at a Time
Are you passionate about turning data into decisions? Do you thrive on transforming outdated processes into modern, efficient systems? We’re looking for a GIS Coordinator who’s ready to be a driver of change—someone who sees Geographic Information Systems not just as tools, but as catalysts for better service delivery, smarter planning, and community impact.
About the Role:
As our GIS Coordinator, you’ll take the lead in formalizing and modernizing our GIS program from the ground up. From spatial data design to integration with asset management and work order systems, your work will help shape the way we operate for years to come.
You’ll work across departments, build partnerships, and translate technical capability into real-world outcomes. This isn’t just about maintaining systems—it’s about leading transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop and implement a centralized GIS strategy, in collaboration with internal stakeholders
-
Design and maintain spatial databases, ETL workflows, data validation scripts, and APIs
-
Integrate GIS with asset management and operational systems (e.g., work orders, inspections)
-
Create intuitive maps, dashboards, and data visualizations that support decision-making
-
Provide technical support and training to end users with varying GIS literacy
-
Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through the use of geospatial tools
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
-
Embraces change and isn’t afraid to question the status quo
-
Has strong technical GIS skills (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, FME, Python, SQL, or similar)
-
Can collaborate across departments and communicate complex data simply
-
Has experience in municipal operations, asset management, or infrastructure planning (preferred)
-
Is excited by the opportunity to build something new and leave a lasting impact
Why Join Us?
This is more than a mapping role—it’s a chance to embed GIS as a core part of how we operate. You’ll have the support of a forward-looking leadership team that sees GIS as essential to transparency, efficiency, and service excellence.
