The mayor and council have announced the hiring of Kyle Attanasio as the CAO for the City of Kenora.
Council conducted a robust recruitment competition following the recent retirement of Karen Brown from the position following a successful career of 28 years of municipal service.
“Kyle brings strong leadership, innovative ideas and municipal management experience to the team,” said Mayor Daniel Reynard. “Combined with our strong Senior Leadership group, I am excited about the opportunities to both grow our organization and enhance our community over next two years on our term of council. Kyle’s energy and leadership style will pave the way for success forming partnerships and collaboration with key stakeholders in the community.”
Attanasio comes from the County of St. Paul, AB where he served as the Director of Corporate Services for the county. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics and Governance with Distinction and a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science. He is married to his wife Tamara who will join him in his relocation to Kenora with their two young children age 3 and 5.
“Kenora is an ambitious community and I am looking forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the organization and working with the city’s many talented and dedicated employees,” Attanasio said. “I intend on building strong relationships early in my tenure and gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities the community is facing. Despite these uncertain times, Kenora is well-positioned to provide quality and cost effective municipal services and programs and I could not be more excited to be part of Kenora’s future.”
Attanasio officially started with the city on October 5.
