The 2017 ground-breaking event to celebrate the start of construction on the North Red Deer Regional Wastewater Transmission System was attended by federal, provincial, and municipal representatives.
Managed and operated by the City of Lacombe, Alberta, the North Red Deer Regional Wastewater System is a large diameter pipeline connecting the City of Lacombe, the Town of Blackfalds, and Lacombe County to a central treatment facility in the City of Red Deer. The project includes nearly 30 kilometres of fused pipeline, two regional wastewater pumping stations, rehabilitation of treatment lagoons, and a dedicated odour treatment facility.
