Most will agree that strategic planning, or having a clear sense of direction, is essential to the success of an organization or business. Why does it seem, then, that there is growing hesitation on the part of participants to engage in such planning processes? The very mention of creating or updating a group’s strategic plan is often met with a wide range of mixed emotional responses, including outright resistance. For most people, spending long days
