
In 2012, council and staff finalized the City of Nanaimo’s new strategic plan. During this process, the city identified six strategic priorities requiring special attention in the next three to five years: Waterfront enhancement; water; asset management; transportation and mobility; community building partnerships; and taking responsibility. One of the key initiatives of “taking responsibility” was to explore the options for town hall meetings.
