Position Purpose: Responsible for all aspects of project management and coordination of corporate, departmental or divisional projects that have a cross-departmental, corporate or strategic scope. This position uses recognized project management techniques to research, develop and implement plans for new initiatives. This position also identifies and manages high priority issues requiring the attention of the Office of the CAO; provides leadership and resource assistance to project teams or business units and supports the management mandate of continuous improvement of organizational effectiveness and capacity building.
Qualifications: Project Management Professional certification; University Degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited University; five (5) years of demonstrated experience in project management and coordination of project teams and best practices approach to service delivery; extensive experience in broader corporate initiatives and cross-departmental projects; demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams. The following qualifications are considered assets: previous experience working in municipal government in a cross-corporate capacity; post-secondary education in government practices in an urban environment; certificate in conflict or dispute resolution; certificate in process improvement.
