Peter de Jager

Greetings Folks… I write a monthly column in Municipal World – which is always a management column thinly disguised as something else. In addition to MW, I also write about a dozen other columns around the world in publications from Ireland to New Zealand and all points between. The audiences range from bankers to government workers, from techies to HR professionals. All of these articles are intended to provide the simplest of advice, uncommon common sense and hopefully a thought and a grin or two.

If I’m hitting the mark? Let my editor know. If I’m not? Let me know. (That way I can fix the problem and they won’t need to hear from you!) You can always contact me at pdejager@technobility.com, and you can see more of my work at www.technobility.com and www.truthpicks.com.

My writing is done mostly for fun, and also as the low key marketing efforts of my real business and my first love: speaking and training for a living. I’m internationally known as provocative and entertaining speaker. My presentations all relate to the Management of our Future – technological and otherwise – in other words I speak about that thing called Change.

In addition to Change Management, I also speak and train on topics such as Creativity, Problem Solving and … with the imminent publication of my next book, So, You’re a Manager… Now What?, I’m offering courses to new supervisors and managers to get them over the initial hurdle of those new skills: delegation, meetings, negative feedback, firing, hiring, motivation, time management, ethics, team building etc., etc.

If you have a need in any of these areas, and you like the way I think, then give me a call… perhaps I can be of service.

In addition to the above speaking and writing activities, I’ve recently been appointed as President of the Global Future Forum. The mandate of this group (www.thegff.com) is to bring Futures Thinking more closely in synch with the strategic planning process.
