Contract Position
SMOOTH ROCK FALLS, ONTARIO
Smooth Rock Falls is a vibrant and action oriented municipality that is seeking the experienced services of an “Implementation Officer” with similar qualities. If you enjoy working in a dynamic and forward thinking environment that seeks to initiate tangible economic change in a community that holds the resources and potential to achieve it, this position will interest you.
The position will perform the Community Economic Development and leadership function for the community under the governance of the Smooth Rock Falls Economic Development Corporation (SRFCDC) and its identified projects. The successful candidate should have a minimum of five years experience working with various businesses, community and municipal organizations, government representatives and a variety of industry stakeholders. Post-graduate studies in economics, commerce or economic development programs and a designation of Ec.D is an asset. Preference will also be made to candidates with bilingual capability. The ideal candidate will be a person who demonstrates a comfort in managing multiple projects simultaneously and supervising project implementation teams.
The position will promote and further develop initiatives defined by the Board and outcomes identified through a variety of studies already undertaken in the community and private sector investments expected to proceed during the contract period. The successful candidate will mentor and oversee the activities of an intern project development coordinator and an administrative assistant. The candidate will be expected to provide leadership to expand and retain business development, generate the community’s industrial potential and other forward thinking “green” eco-friendly objectives.
The Corporation has structured an exceptional remuneration package which includes lodging and is seeking an individual with well developed inter-personal communication skills, strong tact, judgment and diplomacy to fill this posting.
