EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The County of Northern Lights is an increasingly progressive rural municipality located in Northwestern Alberta. With the location of Alberta’s first proposed nuclear power plant lying within our boundaries, there is potential for significant economic activity to occur within our region. The neighbouring communities of Manning, Peace River and Grimshaw not only provide an extensive offering of services and amenities, but they also provide an alternative for those who prefer urban living over the acreage lifestyle. With a major airport, within a couple of hours drive, offering daily flights to points south, we are not as North as people think!
The County has a local gravel road network of 1900 kms, 4 contract grader beats, and 20 public works staff.
Reporting to the CAO, this employee will head a department responsible for the overall development, construction and maintenance of municipal roads and transportation facilities/infrastructure, oversee the operation of potable water truckfills and 2 water treatment plants.
