Gord Hume is serving his fourth consecutive term on City Council in London, Ontario. He chaired the city's Creative City Task Force in 2004 that produced the nationally-respected report that has since guided London in adopting and implementing the recommendations. He now chairs London’s Creative City Committee.

Gord is also the Chair of the Ontario Municipal Cultural Planning Partnership, a unique conglomeration of seven provincial government ministries, creative municipalities, and leading arts, cultural, and business organizations. MCPP is a resource to assist municipalities and the provincial government on Creative City concepts and adapting Municipal Cultural Planning into decision making at the local level.

Gord Hume has a fascinating background, spending 40 years in the media business and local government. He managed major radio stations, co-founded what became Canada’s largest independent community newspaper, produced three record albums, founded Symphonia Canada, wrote and produced many radio and television programs, earned a bunch of major awards, and has been active in many other aspects of creative life in Canada.
