David T. Brown – David is a founding faculty member of the Department of Tourism and Environment at Brock University. He has been actively mapping and promoting natural and cultural heritage destinations for over 15 years, from pioneering work on trails and greenways in the early 1990s, through to current collaborations with the Ontario Greenbelt Foundation, Tourism Niagara, and Niagara Economic Development Corporation.

A diverse academic background in ecology, urban and environmental studies, systems theory, sustainability, and environmental policy informs David’s current work on heritage and cultural mapping and sustainable tourism. He has lived, worked, and lectured around the world, and represented Brock University internationally as Associate Vice President (International Cooperation) for five years. He has authored numerous academic publications, research reports, policy documents, and popular articles on a wide range of topics. He holds a Doctorate from McGill University. David is currently working with AuthentiCity in the development and application of cultural mapping tools.
