Municipal World and Gord Hume are at it again! Last year we asked you for pictures of great local public art in Canadian communities, and more than 75 entries came in! Thank you! Selected pictures were used as part of Gord’s book, Cultural Planning for Creative Communities that has become so popular in Canada and six other countries around the world, and is already in its 3rd printing.
Now, Gord is busy writing his next book – Local Flavour, Local Neighbours – and again we are looking for YOUR contributions. Send us pictures and a brief description of your community's most interesting and food-and-fun-filled festivals!
Summer events? Winter carnivals? Community celebrations? Neighbourhood parties? Street festivals? Regattas? Historical celebrations? Whatever your event, send us some interesting pictures and the stories behind them. Including the food aspect of the event is really important – from farmer’s markets to local food specialties that are featured at the festivals. Gord’s book will be a celebration of Canadian communities’ FOOD, FESTIVALS, AND FUN, with the selected photo or photos appearing on the cover.
Food, drink, festivals, fun, celebrations, and families are all part of what has made our communities successful today. Here’s your community’s opportunity to show its stuff!
Until December 31, 2009, entries will be accepted for Municipal World’s photo contest – a challenge to capture Canada’s food and festivals in pictures.
The selected photo or photos will appear on the cover of Gord Hume’s next book, Local Flavours, Local Neighbours.
