Environmental Zone

Municipal World is pleased to welcome a new team in the Environmental Zone (taking over from longtime columnist and municipal lawyer Dianne Saxe. who was appointed Environmental Commissioner of Ontario in November 2015).

Paula Lombardi and Kirsten Mikadze are part of Siskinds Environmental Law Group, practicing in all areas of environmental and municipal law. The team provides environmental advice relating to project development, approvals, permits, waste, contaminated lands, and general environmental compliance. They also represent clients in all aspects of environmental litigation including civil actions, prosecutions, class actions, administrative hearings, and judicial review applications. They have a great deal of experience in providing due diligence advice; dealing with contamination issues; handling of organic chemicals and hazardous wastes; obtaining environmental approvals; obtaining planning and development approvals; defending environmental prosecutions; and assisting companies with environmental and regulatory compliance.

Each month, in the Environmental Zone, they’ll be sharing their analysis and perspectives on important, emerging environmental issues for Canadian municipalities.
